I’ve been investigating and have found numerous ways of creating a custom menu in WordPress with the ability to target the existing HTML output elements with CSS classes, but what I’d like to do is directly customize the HTML output.
My end goal is for each list item to have an image, header text, and subtext. You can see an example of the kind of effect I’m looking for here: https://www.helpscout.com/blog/psychology-of-color/
With pure HTML this is easy to achieve, but characteristically WordPress seems to make this customization rather difficult. I was thinking I could use the CSS property list-style-image to get the image working, but having two different styles of text is eluding me.
Is there a way to do this without paid plugins like UberMenu?
